Round kitchen: an unexpected innovation

Nowadays, the kitchen has become almost the main room in the whole house, probably second only to the bedroom. The modern pace of life does not leave people a second of free time, therefore, most often, families communicate while sitting in the kitchen, during breakfast, dinner or Sunday family dinners. That is why, while decorating and designing the kitchen, it is worth spending a little more time to create the perfect atmosphere, designed for family evenings, and for an exciting pastime with friends over a cup of tea.

The main rules of the design of the kitchen

Taking up the design of the kitchen, do not limit yourself to anything. Before deciding on the type of kitchen (matte or glossy), with the material from which the furniture will be made and directly with the color scheme, it is worth paying attention to the shape of the kitchen. In addition to the usual "square" and "rectangular" kitchens, in which the furniture is located strictly around the perimeter of the kitchen, it is worthwhile to pay attention to a new fashion trend in design, to the "round" kitchen. Getting rid of excess corners, the room becomes much more elegant, with the help of round and rounded objects, designers often recreate an atmosphere of lightness and airiness. Also in round kitchens they will find another plus for families with children - a minimized number of sharp corners will protect their kids from unwanted injuries. In addition, people who decide to use round kitchens notice that in these rooms they feel much more comfortable and they do not leave a sense of security, which may be lacking in other rooms. Sharp angles, like any other sharp objects at the subconscious level, are recognized by people as a danger from which to stay away.

Furniture in a circle

The most expensive and at the same time the most original solution for the interior will be a kitchen set, located not in the form of a square, but in the form of a semicircle. This solution is not only a design challenge to society, but also a fairly practical solution. Using cabinets and objects located in the corner sections of square kitchens is very inconvenient, round kitchens are spared this problem. Also, for such a design decision, rounded corners of furniture and circles in the interior, for example, round hanging cabinets or photographs in round frames, will be a good addition.

The main problem that can be encountered during the installation of a round kitchen is the shape of the walls. In square and rectangular kitchens it is quite difficult to realize such an idea, but it is still possible. The resulting space in the corners is either ignored if the size of the kitchen allows it to be done, or deals with the most bulky items, such as a refrigerator and a dishwasher.

Round tables

If the kitchen is too small to experiment with the cabinets, but the design solution requires round objects in the interior, you can stop your choice on the more economical option - the choice of a table, rounded or with rounded corners. This decision will be called by many a budget one, a parody of a round kitchen and no more, but in fact it is not. If the design plan uses such a common solution as a paired kitchen and dining room, then the main subject of the interior will be the table, the choice of which should be treated with special attention.

But, one way or another, the simplest and quickest solution can be a regular round or semicircular table. Anyone who opted for a round table will soon be convinced of some of his undoubted advantages, for example, in his increased comfort, compared to an angular table. Turning to historical sources and using the facts of modern psychologists studying this issue, we can safely conclude that the round-table discussions are much warmer and livelier than the usual, square or rectangular. It is worth remembering only King Arthur and his brave knights, who discussed issues of primary importance at a round table. Also, relying purely on pragmatic, dry facts, it should be noted that more people can be seated at a round table than at an angular one.

Round bar counters

If the designer has at his disposal a large space, and it is impossible to round the corners of the kitchen itself, it is worth taking a closer look at the shapes of the bar counters. Most often, semicircular, much less often - round bar counters will become an interesting addition to any modern design, from modern to hi-tech. If a kitchen is designed for people who cannot imagine their life without a noisy, cheerful company, then a bar counter instead of a table will become a more rational solution. In addition, giving preference not to even, but to semicircular bar counters, the designer saves precious space, which is extremely rare, especially in the kitchen. Usually this kind of furniture is perfectly complemented by other round details, for example, high bar stools with round seats or an oval-shaped chandelier that provides adequate lighting.

Skillful combination

Since bar counters, unlike tables, can rarely be an independent part of a design plan, and very often need an addition, decorative or universal, the designers decided to combine them with a table in order to create a new, completely different interior item. It is worth to appreciate the multitasking of this duo, because it allows you to rationally fill the empty space, add more seats for guests. The bar counter, if it is turned towards the kitchen, can be used as an additional kitchen cabinet, which will significantly increase the working space, which is so necessary during pre-holiday cooking.
